A beautiful celebration of the Chinese new year in London & our best wishes to Wuhan
On Jan. 26th, 2020, MBL and China Exchange cohosted the Chinese New Year celebration in London’s Chinatown. More than 500 people showed up to watch or participate in various activities: Chinese folk dance, martial art performance, writing Chinese calligraph and painting Beijing Opera masks, abacus demonstration, and the behavioral art performed by artist Xie Rong (Echo Morgan) who used four different Chinese traditional dresses to represent the four seasons.
Since 2013, MBL has been organizing celebratory events in London during the Chinese New Year and some other important Chinese traditional holidays. Through these events, MBL hopes that more people will learn about Chinese cultures and values, and will celebrate diversity and love.
We’re deeply grateful to our volunteers for their support and contribution! And thank you to those who came to celebrate this special Chinese New Year with us. China is still fighting against the coronavirus that has claimed many lives and stricken many parts of China. Let’s send our best wishes to people in Wuhan, to people in China. Wuhan, jia you! China, jia you! Wuhan, stay strong! China, stay strong!
